Credibility is a Good Thing. Right?
We all know that credibility is necessary to lead.
Don't we?
Of course we do. What a silly question!
But wait . . . stick with me for a minute . . . is it? Is it really?
Can credibility ever be a hinderance?

Is credibility not unlike fame? One minute you're starring in Platoon, the next you're being booed off stage.... In all seriousness, I think the key is authenticity. Even if you're proved wrong - or at least human - which every leader is in some way or other eventually - so long as you were real (in the sense of being open, thankful to others for their part in your rise/success, true to your own values).
This one feels like a trick question :). I went and took another look at the definition of credible (capable or worthy of being believed). I can't up come up with a thought for how credibility can be a hinderance. I say no.
Nope, not a trick question Shaun. I agree and would say no too.
I believe credibility is like respect, you need to earn it in order for it to stick. But, if it's authentic, it'll stick and that's a good thing.
